Carlijn Raijmakers

Associate, Amsterdam

Carlijn is an Associate in the firm’s Amsterdam office, where she works on a broad range of matters involving EU, UK, and US sanctions and export control regulations.

Her work includes assisting clients in navigating complex regulatory frameworks, including economic sanctions regimes and export control requirements. She supports corporates, organisations, and other stakeholders in managing regulatory risks, structuring commercial relationships, and developing compliance programmes that are both legally robust and commercially practical. Carlijn also provides guidance on cross-border transactions and ongoing advisory matters for internationally operating businesses, helping clients align their operations with evolving legal and regulatory obligations.

Carlijn holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. in European Law from Leiden University, where she focused her studies on EU Institutional Law, EU External Relations, and the legal dimensions of European foreign policy.

Prior to joining Bennink Dunin-Wasowicz, Carlijn gained experience advising local governments and multinational companies through internships at renowned Amsterdam law firms.

She has a particular interest in European trade law and the impact of geopolitics on international regulation.
